Ca Mau: from 12 to 13/02/2009 the disease has been reported in Tran Van Thoi town (Tran Van Thoi district) with 42 infected ducks, An Xuyen commune (Ca Mau city) with 710 ducks and 26 chickens reported sick and in Ho Thi Ky commune (Thoi Binh district) with 10 sick ducks and 8 chickens. The total infected poultry have been destroyed compulsorily were 796 (762 ducks and 34 chickens).

Soc Trang: on 13/02/2009, avian influenza has been noticed in Vinh Quoi commune (Nga Nam district) with 200 sick ducks (of which, 50 died)
